I hope this message finds you well. We are now less than a week away from the Zebra Ball. This fantastic event will take place at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago on Saturday. Remember, if you cannot attend this event, you can still make monetary donations or buy raffle tickets at www.thezebraball.com . The prizes are fantastic and all donations will go toward the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, which is celebrating its 40th year anniversary this year!
This weekend my mom passed along to me my usual magazine that we share: “All You”. I don’t know that I see this magazine on newsstands much, but if you happen to catch their February issue, it’s definitely worth the read. (It’s actually Issue 2, February 29, 2008 - although I’m not sure when it’ll be in stores). Inside is a short series about 3 women that are cancer survivors. Now, as I’ve seen many, many a magazine article featuring cancer survivors, I have yet to find one that is a story about Carcinoid. All until now! I was very excited to see the story of Stephanie Frew from Atlanta, an 8 year Carcinoid survivor. Way to go Stephanie! Way to share your story and get the word out about this rare disease. She has a great attitude expressed in the article and its fantastic that now, perhaps a whole new audience will have at least heard of carcinoid.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much else to share at the moment but rest assured that I am doing well.
Thank you, as always for the continued support and prayers.
